GMFT start up, fees, LZ, etc.

Start up

Our start up looks like it is going to be the May long weekend. There is currently a great deal of construction involving heavy equipment taking place on the peak and elsewhere. The Cut is not an option either apparently for similar reasons.

Membership fees

The fee for this year for will be $40.00. There is a paypal link on the web site, or the membership fee may be mailed to - 6751 Meredith Place, Tsawwassen, BC, V4L 1A4. Once the membership fee is paid send an email to harrys@dccnet.com with your HPAC number and then your membership info will be updated on the GMFT web site.

LZ

The District of North Vancouver has plans to work on the LZ this summer, leaving us with the lower LZ once this work begins. The start date for this work is uncertain so I would recommend flying as much as possible early in the season if you are not comfortable landing on the side hill or the lower field.

Email / Guest

An email function ha been added to the GMFT web site. This should allow for guests et all to communicate with members easier, hopefully making it more convenient for guests to arrange flights from Grouse Mtn. You will find the mail feature at the bottom right of your screen once you have logged onto the GMFT website. I would encourage members to make an effort to help guests fly off Grouse. Arranging for guest pilots to fly off Grouse has been the most rewarding aspect of being a part of the GMFT for me.
